Heading off to a summer festival this year? If you are then you're almost certainly going to have a good time. However, if you want to stay safe at a festival then it's important you remember a few essential rules and bring various vital items with you. Attending a festival is very different from going to a normal concert at a typical venue.
As most festivals take place during the summer months then some sunglasses and sunscreen wouldn't go amiss. Although more often than not it ends up raining at festivals thanks to the British weather it's better to be safe than sorry. So, for avoid sunburn and possible heat stroke sunglasses and sunscreen are vital!
Make sure you get plenty to drink, especially if you're down the front. This doesn't mean alcohol. Whilst you'll certainly want to enjoy some beer whilst you're watching the bands remember to drink plenty of water too. You'd be amazed at how many people end up passing out or become dehydrated just because they neglected to drink enough water during the festival.
Earplugs are another essential item! The music at festivals tends to be extremely loud; this is especially true if you're close to the stage. So it's very important to remember some earplugs as over three days of watching bands you could easily do some serious damage to your hearing! They're cheap enough to buy and at some festivals they're even handed out for free.
